Dear Chairman John Dingell and Members of the Energy & Commerce Committee:

Please support House legislation to fix the Food and Drug Administration’s broken system of prescription drug regulation.

Support a bill that will give the FDA the power to impose meaningful fines, if a drug maker fails to do follow-up safety studies. That will make most clinical trial information available to doctors and patients so they can better weigh the risks as well as the benefits of taking a drug. And that will allocate an additional $225 million in industry user fees towards drug safety.

Please support strong drug safety legislation, which will protect consumers from dangerous and deadly prescription drugs such as Vioxx.
