Methyl Iodide is a toxic chemical that poses serious risks to the health of farm workers, rural communities and to the public health in general, who may be affected by surface and ground water contamination. Several state agencies are currently deciding whether they should approve this toxic chemical for use as a pesticide on strawberry and tomato farms in Florida.
We urge you to attend the Pesticide Review Council Meeting at the University of Florida in Gainesville on Tuesday morning. Even if you decide not to make a public comment your presence will send an important message to the review council. Pesticide Review Council Meeting Place: University of Florida, J. Wayne Reitz Union, Gainesville, Florida. (Between Center Drive and Gale Lemerand Drive on Museum Road) General Subject Matter to be Considered: A review of pertinent pesticide issues impacting on human health and environment.
